You know exactly what looks good on you. There is no need to try anything on when you are shopping because you know by the shape, cut and how it's made, it will be your new favorite wardrobe piece, right? Well if this is you, I am in envy of you! Now if you are like me none of the above statements are true; to be honest this is one of my biggest challenges I face nearly everyday. Some of my closest friends and family have teased me about it saying things like "how can you be so good at designing and helping others with their attire but when it come to yourself it's like you're blind". I know it's all in fun and I love them for it but I realized how right they were. I learned it was because I never figured out what styles where good for my body type. It really didn't matter how much I loved something on a hanger! No matter how much I adjusted, pulled and sucked in, it just wasn't going to look good on me. So, I'm learning.
Therefore, when you start looking at the most important dress in your life, your wedding dress, take the time to also learn about your body type. Believe me it will make selecting your dream dress that much easier.

A-line

As you can see an A line dress is so named because if you start at the top the dress slowly flares out to make an A shape. It can be very suttle or dramatic.

Ball Gown

The Ball Gown is an elaborite floor length dress. It's bell shape style is typically used in formal weddings.
Usually looks best on: Tall brides and those with heavier bottoms then tops
Ballerina

A less formal dress then the ball gown this full bell shaped hits mid calf.
Usually looks best on: Shorter women and those with broader sholders
Mermaid
This style hugs your body to the hips then starts flaring out at the knee. A rather popular choice.

Modern sleek and simple that hugs all your curves

An eleagant style that is not as close fiting as a mermaid or sheath style dress
Usually looks best on: Almost Everyone
Empire
This dress creates a slimming effect that starts to flow just below the bust
Usually looks best on: Short-waistline women, Tall thin Brides and heavy-set women
